		19 May - Check out the special price for matings to Storm 2 on the Stud Services page. 20 April - New stud males have been (and are being) added that should appeal to most breeders. 9 November - Added a few more females for sale. 4 November - Several more alpacas for sale have been added in Christchurch and other areas. Check out our new web site www.alpacapets.co.nz . 26 October - Added several females and a few pet males for sale, removed "sold" alpacas. 24 October - Added new category (3-in-1 pacakages) to "Alpacas for Sale" page plus several new listings. Check later today, as we'll be adding quite a few females for your consideration. 10 September - Changes to "Shearing services" and "Stud services" pages. 1 September - Removed some of the sold alpacas, added a few new ones. 21 July - Updated the "Events" page. Of particular interest to anyone breeding alpacas, should be the Neonatal Workshop being presented by Southern Alpacas in September. Even if you have already attended one of these workshops, you may wish to go for a refresher. We think it will all make a lot more sense now that we have a few births behind us. 4 July 2008 - Web site statistics have been updated for June and show some interesting figures. A record number of unique visitors (501) had a look at the site and 165 of those visitors viewed the "alpaca breeders" page. Many people use that page as their primary source of email address or phone number information. 27 June 2008 - A few alpacas have sold, a few more listed for sale, cluster group information updated, changes to information relating to some of the alpacas for sale. 23 June 2008 - Some alpacas sold, new alpacas for sale, new events, new open days, new products, more breeders. 27 May 2008 - Trying to get caught up, new open day, new alpacas for sale, alpacas sold, new events, more breeders. 1 May 2008 - More breeders added, show records for several stud males updated, new products, web site statistics updated. 2 Apr. 2008 - "Events" page updated, new products (duvets), more show results, more alpacas for sale, "sold" alpacas removed, trying to get caught up with listings that have been submitted. 12 Mar. 2008 - More breeders added, another shearer offering his services, cluster group details updated, minor corrections to Kumeu Show results. 11 Mar. 2008 - Results from Kumeu Show are now available. Please accept our apology for falling behind with entering alpacas for sale and other bits and pieces. We'll try to catch up this week. 2 Mar. 2008 - New open days, new breeders, new alpacas for sale, new products. 8 Feb. 2008 - The Events page has been updated to reflect the latest information, including closing dates for various shows. 24 Jan. 2008 - We have our first "open day" being advertised (see the new menu option). If you are having an open day, just send us the details and we'll add you to the page, free of charge. 20 Jan. 2008 - Finally, we have some shearers offering their services. We hope that the "Shearing Services" page grows with more contacts for shearing, sharpening and equipment. 19 Jan. 2008 - The results from the Warkworth Show have been posted. Thanks to those who organised the event and those you entered alpacas and those who just came along for a "look", it was a fantastic day. 18 Jan. 2008 - Good luck to those of you with entries at the Warkworth Show. Valerie Bushell has been busy promoting this new show and there are more than 50 alpacas entered. Fantastic! The results will be posted here shortly after the show. 9 Jan. 2008 - New alpacas listed for sale. New stud males to be added later today. "New" items are tagged in red. We're still looking for details from anyone offering shearing services. Also waiting to receive shedules from cluster groups. 29 Dec. 2007 - We've "cloaked" all of the email addresses to prohibit email spiders from collecting addresses from this site for spamming purposes. The two additional spaces in the displayed email addresses will not cause any problems. 18 Dec. 2007 - We added a "Search" button to make it easy to find something of interest on the site. We're just waiting for Google to catch up with indexing in order to make the search facility more effective. 10 Dec. 2007 - The results from the Whangarei Show have been posted. We hope to see you at the Warkworth Show in January.

The primary purpose of this site is to provide a place where people can advertise their alpacas for sale, their stud males available for service and products of interest to alpaca breeders and owners. Basically, AlpacaTrader provides a place where people can go if they want to buy, sell, trade or exchange alpacas, services or products. AlpacaTrader is unique in that all listings are free. There are no charges to list your alpaca-related items and no commissions for successfully selling or exchanging them. You may very well ask, "Who pays for the site and all the hard work?" On the left, you will see a menu option labeled "Sponsors". It is the sponsors who make this site possible. Please take the time to peruse their pages.

The "Alpacas for sale" section will have separate sections for individual animals (male and female) as well as packages. Three-in-one and four-in-one packages being offered by several breeders afford buyers with an excellent opportunity to purchase alpacas at a reasonable price. A three-in-one package consists of a female, with a cria at foot, that has been re-mated. A four-in-one package is similar, but includes the next mating as well. If you purchase a three-in-one package, for instance, you should end up with three alpacas for the packaged price.

In time, our library will be crammed with articles that anyone looking after these interesting animals should find interesting and beneficial. We have been given permission to include articles written by very knowledgeable vets, animal scientists, and other experts in the Camelid industry.

To round things out, AlpacaTrader will also be a convenient place to discover events that should be of interest to anyone interested in alpacas. The Show Results section should also be of interest to those who show their animals and those who use show results as one of their selection criteria when purchasing alpacas and/or stud services.
